Jan is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in Celtic music. For many years, he has been active on the music scene, playing instruments such as bagpipes, flutes, tenor banjo, guitar, and Irish bouzouki.
On his initiative, the Krakow Celtic Festival and the Polish Celtic Association were established, where he serves as president. The association promotes the music and culture of Celtic countries, organizing events, workshops, and festivals.
He is also a co-founder of the Viral Sessions project, which connected hundreds of musicians from around the world.
As a member of the band Beltaine, Jan has recorded 5 studio albums, including Observer (2023), and 2 live albums. The band has received numerous awards, including Wirtualne Gęśle (three times) and the Irish Music Award in 2011 (awarded by the American Irish Music Association). Beltaine’s tracks have appeared on prestigious compilations such as The Witcher: Inspired (for the first The Witcher video game) and Folk się Gro!.
Jan also performs with the band Light Migrations, presenting traditional music from across Europe, including France and Sweden, also on balfolk stages.
He regularly performs at festivals around the world, including in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Malaysia, Scotland, Portugal, and Switzerland. Notable appearances include the Shetland Folk Festival, Pittsburgh Irish Festival, Tall Ship Races in Montreal, Ortigueira in Galicia, Montelago, Guinness Irish Festival, Przystanek Woodstock, and the Rainforest World Music Festival in Malaysia, promoting Celtic and folk music.
In addition to his musical career, Jan is an active architect and a graduate of the Cracow University of Technology.
